STATE: Mini DMX Tester


The STATE DMX tester is capable of transmitting and receiving DMX signals. Its eight modes allow the diagnostics of common faults found in lighting systems, as well as assisting in focussing, rig checking and testing an installation.

MIDI reception - will receive and display MIDI commands, including MSC from a lighting console.

LTC, will receive and display SMPTE timecode, including the format/frame rate.

RECORD - New for R3 units. You can now capture (from DMX in) 200 DMX Snapshots into memory. Useful for backup etc or setting up of standalone fixtures. Once a memory is stored it can be played back, and levels altered.

Personalised each unit displays your name on power-up.


The unit is powered by a 1000mAH LiPo battery and can be charged from any powered USB socket, a phone charger, computer or power adaptor are all suitable candidates. The units high resolution OLED screen is responsible for a long battery life.


The rugged aluminium enclosure and screen protected by durable polycarbonate face should survive a toolbox or carrying in a pocket. Neutrik 5 pin connectors are used for long service life.


Levels are set using an encoder, fast access to 0,50,100% are offered with a press of a single key. Continuously cycling values can also be provided by the unit. An offset can be set, so for example you can jump through the rig in 3s, to test the R channel in lots of LED battens etc.
